Fernhill Maverick
Fernhill Maverick is a 2016 Irish Sport Horse Gelding out of T Sambia 3 by Can Ya Makan, owned by the Zero Gravity Partners. 'Maverick' just started competing at the 3* level with a lot of top five placings as he has been moving up the levels. He is a lovely mover and a great personality on the ground. He has plenty of scope for the upper levels and we are looking forward to what the future holds for this one!
Morning Eagle
Morning Eagle is a stunning 2021 OTTB by First Dude out of Rovenna. "Eagle" came straight to our program from a long time friend and connection at the track. He has stunning gaits and the most sensible mind. We are excited to take out time to develop Eagle and see if he has the desire to be an upper level eventer!
EXCES DE FOLIE
EXCES DE FOLIE is a 2014 Selle Francais Gelding out of Darcy De Coraimont by Canabis Z. 'Folie' is owned by Winnett Ordway and is ridden by her daughter, Lyman Ordway. Folie is full time in our program while Lyman is in school. Anna has been schooling him and building his confidence both at home and at shows so he is in tip-top shape when Lyman is able to break away from school to ride. Lyman and Folie entered the program at the Training level last fall and Anna has successfully competed him through the Preliminary level with two top ten finishes. Lyman has successfully moved him up to Modified with a top ten finish under her belt this winter! He is quite the mover and a pleasure to ride. We are so lucky to have him in our program. Lyman will be riding him full time in our program for the summer of '24 once she is out of school.
Prince Renan
Prince Renan is a 2003 RPSI registered Holsteiner/TB cross. "Renan" is owned by my phenomenal supporters, Rodney and Gina Giudici-Oakes. Renan is competing at the Advanced level and he recently finished 2nd on his Dressage score at Rocking Horse. At the CCI** level, he has had multiple top 10 finishes including winning the 2018 Jersey Fresh CIC** in May. We are very excited for what the future holds as Renan continues to show us incredible athletic ability in all three phases as we move up the levels.
Check out recent videos of Renan on The Horse Pesterer's YouTube Channel.
Fernhill That Guy Jack
Fernhill That Guy Jack is a 2011 ISH owned by Gayle Davis. "Jack" has competed through the CCI 4* level. I am overwhelmed to have Gayle join our team as Jack's owner as we work toward achieving our goals of being competitive at the 5* level. Jack is a thoughtful, scopey, and avid competitor who gives everything his whole heart.
Fernhill Hole Shot
Fernhill Hole Shot ("Allen") is a 2013 17hh Zangersheide. Top class athlete with talent for 5*. Consistently wins the dressage with big flowing gaits and willingness to please. Effortlessly steps over jumps at Prelim. Careful in SJ and bold and straight-forward on XC. Competing Prelim, ready to move up to Intermediate. Super sweet with an excellent work ethic and impeccable ground manners.
Lucky Light III
Lucky Light III is affectionately known to many as "Vega Monster." Born in 1994, Vega is a 16.1hh Danish Warmblood gelding bred in Denmark out of Sashca by Lucky Light and imported in 1999. Vega and I formed an incredible bond over the first six years we were together and he gave me my first taste of the upper levels in Eventing. When I first got Vega in 2005 he had a universal reputation -- and it wasn't a good one. He was trained as a dressage horse and was known for his difficult personality. Notably, he would refuse to go further than the end of the barn driveway, leaping, spinning and causing a scene. Together, we not only got past the end of the driveway but over our first cross country fences - going from Beginner Novice to Training Level in our first season together. Vega was the first horse I had competed at the Prelim level. After just three competitive seasons together we went to our first CCI* (now CCI2*-L) at Wits End in Ontario, Canada and placed 6th. The following year, we went on to the North American Junior and Young Riders Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park where we placed 13th individually and 4th with the Area 1 team in the CCI*(now CCI2*-L). In 2010 we moved up to Intermediate together and placed 9th at the Chattahoochee Hills CIC** (now CCI3*-S) and qualified to compete at the NAJYRC CCI** (now CCI3*-L) Championships. An unfortunate injury eliminated our hopes of competing at the NAJYRC's , as the road to recover would be a long one. As Vega turned 17 years old in 2011, I made the decision not to take him back up to the intermediate level. He spent two years campaigning around Novice and Training Level with my mom and is now enjoying his time as King of Chase Hollow Farm - happily in light work providing education for working students and casual trail rides with friends.
