About Anna

Anna grew up in Bradford, Vermont where she fell in love with riding from the moment she was first placed on the back of a horse at three years old. At five years old, Anna told her parents that she was going to be an Olympic Event rider. Over the years, her commitment to this goal has only grown. Alongside this goal she has developed an immense passion for teaching riders and developing horses from the ground up. Riding and working side by side with her mother, Melanie, at their Chase Hollow Farm, she developed an equestrian work ethic and honed her skills in all aspects of horsemanship. As a member of North Country Pony Club, she earned her B rating at 15 years old.
Over the years, Anna has learned from the best equestrians. Starting as a working student through high school with area professional Jane Hamlin, she later moved on to a position with Olympian Phillip Dutton and then based herself at Hungtington Farm working under Grand Prix Dressage rider Deb Dean-Smith riding, training and selling Ann Kitchel's Hungtington bred world class Oldenburgs. Huntington gave Anna the opportunity to ride and compete many horses of varying levels in Dressage and Eventing while developing her skills for producing horses. Deb Dean-Smith still provides her with key dressage training for her upper-level Event horses. In addition, she has been training since 2015 with Olympian David O'Connor who has continued to refine her accuracy and development in all three phases. Regular clinics and lessons with Lucinda Green, Kirk Webby, Buck Davidson, Denny Emerson, to name just a few, have also contributed to her journey as a developing equestrian.
Her first upper level horse, Lucky Light III - or Vega Monsta' as he is affectionately known, was Anna's first leap into the upper levels and there was no turning back. Vega, although a talented horse, was labelled un-ridable by other trainers and refused to even walk down the driveway with his previous owner. Anna knew Vega had great talents to offer and brought out his best. Her confidence in him and diligent training got him to his first Beginner Novice event in 2006 then on through the levels to their first CCI* in 2008.
Their extraordinary partnership continued to develop as they represented Area I on the 2009 NAJYRC CCI* team - placing team 4th and 13th individually. Young Rider Championships provided Anna with her first team opportunity in Eventing and provided an early fuel to the fire to become a USA team rider in the future.

2009 was a busy year for Anna, as she also graduated as her high school class valedictorian and was offered a NCAA Division I Women's Soccer scholarship to play at the University of Vermont. Passing on the soccer scholarship, she instead focused her extra-curricular time on her riding, took a semester off to work for Phillip Dutton and completed her first 2* on Vega the next spring.
While navigating the challenges of combining upper level riding and getting an education, her studies have focused on business and exercise science. Attending the University of Vermont and then Lyndon State College, she developed a keen interest in human kinesiology. In May of 2015 she earned her Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. This is a unique complement to her equestrian skills as she helps riders achieve their athletic goals.
Now known as having a gift for understanding and bringing out the best in difficult horses, Anna found her next partner,  Prince Renan by being the only rider who seemed to truly believe in and have the ability to develop his capabilities as an event horse. Prince Renan may have received the honor of "most unlikely horse to succeed at Eventing" if there had been a vote when he first began. With firm support from his owners Rodney and Gina Guidici-Oakes, Anna worked with his quirky personality, moving up the levels to the delighted surprise and support of many. Career highlights for Anna and Renan included a win at the Jersey Fresh 3*S, and a top 10 finish at the 4*S at Great Meadow.

Lucky Light III and Prince Renan have perhaps provided more learning opportunities than the average horse does into how to develop horses and help them find a discipline that suits them best. However, Anna believes you learn something from each horse or rider that you train and that is the real reward in a career path with horses.
Now working full time out of Chase Hollow Farm, Anna enjoys training, teaching and challenging herself, her students and her horses to reach their highest potential. Anna is passionate about training being enjoyable for her students and her horses. Anna Loschiavo Eventing is located in Bradford, VT from mid-May to mid-October and based out of their southern farm in Ocala, FL for the winter months. Look for Anna out competing all over the east coast with her talented string of horses or reach out to Anna for training, sales, or to join her team as a sponsor.
